Pleasanton Adult and Career Education (PACE) Paid Internship Program for Adults with Disabilities

The PACE Paid Internship Program supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in gaining hands-on workplace experience while preparing for competitive integrated employment. Each intern participates in three rotations during the nine-month program, working alongside an Employment Training Specialist, business mentors, and coworkers at the worksite. With a 4-to-1 intern-to-ETS ratio, interns receive personalized guidance while also developing problem-solving skills, workplace autonomy, and confidence in navigating professional environments.

In addition to paid work opportunities, the program includes daily work-skills classes that emphasize communication, adaptability, teamwork, and problem-solving, critical skills for success in any workplace. Interns leave the program with a resume, professional references, and continued job search and coaching support from the PACE team.

Applicants who meet program eligibility and successfully complete the interview process will have the opportunity to join this empowering experience for the 2025-26 program year.
